Arsenal could bring Kim Kallstrom back to the Emirates next season

The Swede missed most of his loan spell with a back injury last season, but has his hopes set on returning to the Gunners.Kim Kallstrom could make a remarkable return to Arsenal next season. The Swedish veteran, who missed most of his loan spell because of a broken back, revealed he has held talks with boss Arsene Wenger in which they discussed him rejoining the club.

It comes as Arsenal are also lining up moves for Norwich’s John Ruddy and Reading’s Alex McCarthy as new No.2 keepers for next season to replace Lukasz Fabianski. But Gunners’ fans will be more surprised about the prospect of Kallstrom returning, bearing in mind his bizarre spell which barely saw him play after joining in January.

Kallstrom, talking about his discussions with Wenger, said: “We had a long talk about everything.

“They were really happy with my work.”

Asked whether he can see himself returning, he added: “Yes. We we will see what happens. I had a fantastic time at Arsenal and like their style.”

Meanwhile, Arsenal are searching for a new keeper to back up first-choice Wojciech Szczesny.

They have been offered Ruddy and that deal is being seriously considered.

Reading’s England prospect McCarthy is another they are looking at, especially considering the Royals’ financial difficulties.Culled from Mirror UK.
