Imo state capital Owerri is fast becoming the dirtiest city in Nigeria.

What is happening to our once cleanest state capital.Owerri was named the cleanest state capital in the 2008 National Environmental Day.The award was made known in a letter from the Federal Ministry of Environment, Housing and Urban Development to the state government.More Pix after the cut.

The award event took place during the 2008 National Environmental Sanitation Day in Abuja. But today the volume of dirt's in the state capital is an apology. The Rescue Mission agenda should try and rescue the once cleanest city and restore its cleanliness.People should also not wait for the state government to come and clean their environment for them. They can also help to keep Owerri clean and government should try to evacuate the plenty refuse on the streets before it start affecting the health of the citizens.Let us all help keep Owerri Clean,Keep Nigeria Clean.
