Imo Concord Hotel Locked for renovation.
The Only state owned hotel in Imo state went under Lock and key today the 3rd of June with reasons best known to the Government and its management.Information gathered reveals that the government took the decision to stop business activities in the hotel so that it will be renovated to restore the hotel to its past glory. It used to be called the ‘Five Star Pearl East of the Niger’ in the early 1980s when it was unveiled by late Governor Sam Mbakwe. Up till the early 1990s, it was so cherished by the igbo's that it became the most patronized hotel in the country. To all Imolites it was a regional monument and edifice, offering one of the best hospitality splendours. But it later experienced a slowdown and its teeming customers left it for other hotels. It has suffered much neglect and worst patronage. Please Owelle restore our Five Star Pearl East of the Niger and take the glory.Do not allow it to dilapidate.HOW CAN WE RESTORE THIS EDIFICE????
