Who succeeds the late Emir of Kano??

Alhaji Ado Bayero was the longest-serving emir in Kano’s history.He ascended the throne in 1963 and was the Emir till the 6th of June 2014 making it 50 years as an Emir.The list of contenders for the throne have begun.View the list after the cut.


1st  is the immediate past Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mallam Sanusi Lamido, who is the Dan-majen of Kano.
2nd  is his uncle Sanusi Abbas, he is the Wamban of Kano.
3rd  is the first son of the late Emir Sanusi Ado Bayero, he is the District Head of Gwale.
4th  is the Galadiman of Kano,
5th  is Alhaji Tijjani Hashim
6th  Aminu Bayero
7th is Nasiru Bayero.

The Kano caliphate kingmakers have begun a closed door meeting to pick three names out of the eligible contenders for Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso to pick Bayero’s successor.Goodluck to who will be chosen.
