Folorunsho Alakija overtakes Oprah Winfrey As Richest Black Woman
Nigerian oil tycoon Folorunsho Alakija has been named the richest black woman in the world with an estimated fortune of $7.3 billion about $300 million more than American television personality Oprah.
Her biggest break came when Famfa Oil, was awarded an oil prospecting license, which later became OML 127, one of the country's most prolific oil blocks, by then-president Ibrahim Babangida.Congratulations Madam.
