Elections Will Not Be Postponed, Council of State insists

It has been announced by the Council of State of Nigeria that it has denied the proposal by President Goodluck Jonathan and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to postpone elections.
 The Election will still hold as scheduled on the 14th and 28th of February 2015.

All the former Presidents and Heads of State were all in attendance, Shehu Shagari, Yakubu Gowon, Muhammadu Buhari, Ibrahim Babangida, Abdulsalami Abubakar and Interim National Government President Ernest Shonekan except Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, who did not attend and gave no reason for not attending.

The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission,INEC, Attahiru Jega, and the nation’s security chiefs made presentation to the meeting, which started around 11.56 a.m. and ended after 7.pm.
