Ben Murray Bruce the Senator Elect of Bayelsa state took to twitter to share his thought on how and what best to do to better the lives of Nigerians. He also suggested that the elites or the big men should not be the only people to be respected and cared for.Read his tweet below. He is really making sense.
"Govt is a service. People in govt should not see themselves as being in POWER. They should see themselves as being in SERVICE.
1-A leader is strong if he achieves things using talent and will. He's weak if he achieves things using force. Nigeria needs strong leaders.
2-A leader helps people achieve their dreams and aspirations while a ruler forces his dreams on others. Nigeria needs leaders not rulers.
3-We've had know it all leaders in Nigeria. Where have they gotten us? Nowhere! Nigeria needs care-for-all leaders not know it all leaders!
4-Leaders shouldn't complain. That is a sign of powerlessness. They change things. The buck must stop at their desk or they leave that desk!
5-Servant leaders connects with you before correcting you, but a leader to be served just wants to correct. Nigeria needs servant leaders!
6-When leaders reward results, they encourage those around them to deliver results not activity. Nigeria needs leaders that deliver results.
Nigeria's wealth shouldn't service the lifestyle of her elite only. We must democratize the distribution of Nigeria's wealth.
Nigeria must learn to feed itself. How can we have so much land and so much population and import food! We've what it takes to export food!
If we want Nigerians to be loyal to Nigeria, then Nigeria must be loyal to Nigerians, especially the masses not only the Nigerian big man!
If all that makes you rich is money, then you are poorer than you think. The poverty of ideas is what has brought Nigeria to this state."
