First Lady Michelle Obama plans rally a crowd of high school students in a college enrollment celebration Friday, and she plans to bring a couple celebrities with her.
University of Michigan head football coach Jim Harbaugh is expected to join Obama, along with Grammy-winning singer Ciara, the White House announced.
The trio is scheduled to address some 2,000 students from more than 40 Detroit high schools at Wayne State University in a College Signing Day rally hosted by the Detroit College Access Network.
Obama attended a similar College Signing Day event in San Antonio, Texas last year.
She plans to highlight the importance of higher education in support of an effort to give the U.S. the highest proportion of college graduates in the world, according to the White House.
The first lady last visited Detroit in October 2014 to campaign for Michigan Democrats.
The White House is encouraging Americans to wear college apparel Friday and share photos over social media using the hashtag #ReachHigher.
