GHEN GHEN! Tribunal REMOVES APC lawmaker, declares PDP candidate winner

The already declared winner and serving house member who is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress(APC) representing Etsako West II constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly, Yakubu Gowon,has been removed by Edo State Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Benin City.In the judgement delivered by the tribunal, Justice E. Abuua, said that Gowon was not duly nominated by his party.
The stated that APC’s notice of intention to hold party primaries, which was sent to INEC, arrived in less than the mandatory 21 days.It said that the notice was given on November 13, 2014, while the primaries were conducted on December 1, 2014.

They tribunal immediately declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Eruaga Sylvanus as the winner of the April 11 House of Assembly election.This is the constituency where Governor of Edo State Adams Oshiomhole hails from.
