Supreme Court declares Same Sex - Marriage legal in USA

There was celebration all over the United States by Gay Lovers as the Supreme Court okays same sex marriage to be legal.

The Wall Street Journal reported that,Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Antonin Scalia, Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito dissented. The four conservatives filed four separate dissenting opinions, each of which some of the others joined.

“If you are among the many Americans—of whatever sexual orientation—who favor expanding same-sex marriage, by all means celebrate today’s decision,” wrote Chief Justice Roberts, joined by Justices Scalia and Thomas. “But do not celebrate the Constitution. It had nothing to do with it.”

The ruling prompted quick political reaction.

Mr. Obama described the ruling as a “thunderbolt” of justice in what is ordinarily a process of slow, incremental change. “We’ve made our union a little more perfect—that’s the consequence of a decision from the Supreme Court but more importantly it is a consequence of the countless small acts of courage,” he said in remarks delivered in the Rose Garden.

Republican presidential candidates in the 2016 race also reacted. Former Arkansas governor and 2016 Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee blasted the ruling.

“The Supreme Court has spoken with a very divided voice on something only the Supreme Being can do—redefine marriage,” said Mr. Huckabee, a candidate who is a favorite among evangelical conservatives.

GOP candidate Jeb Bush said, “I believe the Supreme Court should have allowed the states to make this decision. I also believe that we should love our neighbor and respect others, including those making lifetime commitments.”
