I doubt Arsenal fans will be too chuffed about this rumour as speculation grows that Tom Cleverley could take his 'TC23' brand to the Emirates Stadium.The midfielder has endured a season of struggle at Manchester United and was omitted from England's World Cup squad despite making seven appearances in qualifying.

The Daily Star reports that United are stalling over plans to offer Cleverley a new deal, and that could let in Arsenal and Everton, who are eyeing a 6 million-pound swoop for the 24-year-old.

Meanwhile, the Gunners are also sniffing around Swansea captain Ashley Williams as Arsene Wenger ponders whether to launch a 3 million-pound bid for the defender. The Daily Mail says Williams has decided to fly the nest after failing to reach an agreement over a contract extension at Swansea.
